Course Overview

The course prepares students for studying at undergraduate degree level, RQF Level 4.

Course Duration

24 weeks. Please note, some classes me be delivered online.

Entry Requirements

• Qualification: RQF Level 2 or equivalent
(AS-Levels / High School Diploma)

• English Entry Qualification:

5.0 IELTS or equivalent

• Minimum Age: 17 years


Upon successful completion of the course you will be presented with a University Foundation Diploma in Engineering.

This course is designed for students wishing to study Engineering and related subjects at undergraduate level at a UK-based university.

General Level /
Experience of Staff

Staff hold a relevant qualification at least one level above the subject level they are teaching and hold a relevant teaching qualification.

Staff come from a range of backgrounds, including academic and industry specialisms. From time to time we may invite guest lecturers or subject specific specialists to take lectures / seminars.

Staff teaching English modules hold a CELTA or CertTESOL qualification.

About This Course

The ETC University Foundation Programme in Engineering is aimed at
students wishing to enter a UK university. The course prepares students
for studying at degree level.

English and IELTS

English and IELTS are included in this course (dependent on the student’s English level).


Students will study content in relation to the following subject areas:

  • Engineering Maths
  • Engineering Project
  • Electrical and Electronic Principles and Application
  • Mechanical Principles and Application
  • Safe Engineering Processes and Practices
  • Engineering English and Academic Skills

It is possible for students to substitute modules from other UFP programmes depending on the student’s needs.

Fees and Other Relevant Costs

Tuition fees for new students

24 weeks:
£9,796 (this includes a £100 non-refundable enrolment fee).

Tuition fees for existing or continuing students

24 weeks: £9,696 per annum.


A range of books are recommended to supplement teaching and are purchased at the discretion of the student.
